How can I register / subscribe?
You can register here. Registring for (= subscribing to, signing up to ) GAY.EU can be done on
Registration for (= subscribing to, signing up to) GAY.EU is quite quick and rather easy. Within five minutes you're a GAY.EU member and able to use all additional services.
After registring you can easily switch your profile to the 'Verified Member status' (activate). After registring you can discuss topics on the forum and add a dating ad. And of course, you can use the GAY messenger device. Via this GAY messenger you can easily contact all other members on GAY.EU!

What kinds of subscriptions are there?
Standard, the Membership!
By creating a profile on GAY.EU you become, without any costs, a Member, automatically! You have upon this the possibility to confirm your Membership, by applying the status of 'Verified Member'.
The 'Verified Member' status
Don't you like the faking type? Just interconnect your mobile telephone number with your profile. You'll get the status of 'Verified Member'. This interconnection with your cellphone is only possible in The Netherlands and Belgium. Those who pay by credit card are also granted the status of 'Verified Member'. Thanks to this status anyone will notice at once, that the user in question isn't likely someone who's posing to be somebody else. An additional advantage of this interconnection of your mobile number with your profile is: other users are able to reach you via texting at all times.
Confirming, resp. activating your profile is recommended: you either send an SMS message to number 5040 with the word 'GAY', or pay with credit card. Thereafter you receive from us a secret code ( € 1,50). As soon as you enter this secret code into the website, your mobile number has been connected with your profile and you are granted the status of 'Verified Member'.
Gold Membership (RECOMMENDED)
The Gold Membership is the payed subsription to GAY.EU with all possibilities. You can edit your profile, block other users, retrieve the 25 latest messages, etcetera. You're a Gold Member for only € 4,99 a month. As a Gold Member you are automatically granted the status of 'Verified Member'.
Nothing happens, after I'v sent off an SMS message...
In general there could be a number of reasons:
- You live outside the Dutch or Belgian Short Message Service device. Send us an e-mail, if a technical problem occurs or, if you'd like to make a payment, pay by credit card.
- You haven't got enough credit on your prepaid account, for which reason the MSN messages don't arrive. Solution: be sure to have sufficient credit on your prepaid account. You only need to send 1 sms message, which will cost you approximately 10 to 20 Eurocent, depending on your telephone provider.
- In the unlikely event that our SMS Message device is malfunctioning, due to heavy traffic, messages could arrive late. In that case you best wait a couple of hours and then try registring again. Sending this SMS message will cost you approximately 10 tot 20 Eurocent, depending on your cellphone contract.
- The specific cellphone contract doesn't allow you receiving any paying messages.
- You're behind with your payments due to your cellphone contract, for which reason paying messages temporarily can't be delivered to your cellphone.
Should this not solve the problem, please let us know.

How am I to log in?
At the top left below the logo, you can fill in your username (nickname) and your password. Click the button 'login' and you will be logged in to GAY.EU.
If you tick the box 'save login', you will be automatically logged in to GAY.EU every time you visit GAY.EU. All your friends and other users of GAY.EU know instantly that you're online and can send you a message through the GAY.EU messenger.

If you're logged in, at the top left, below the logo your personal menu appears. In the orange part of the page, you can edit your profile, change your data, add your pictures.

No faking on GAY.EU!
There are a lot of online communities, chatboxes, datingboxes, that are infested by fakers. These fakers are individuals who frequently take on a different (falsh) identity. Some may like this, as their anonymity is nicely guaranteed, others may be annoyed, as getting to know each other is quite difficult this way. On GAY.EU we try to encourage faking. Not because we're opposed of it, but faking can be done on dozens of others places; we like to keep things nice on GAY.EU!

How can I send messages to other users?
By clicking the envelope next to the username, you can send messages via the GAY.EU messenger. These envelopes you find in front of every buddy in the GAY messenger, in the profiles and in a respond of someone in the forum.
By clicking the telephone icon, next to the username, you can send the person in question an SMS message. This is quite handy, if someone isn't online, and you still like to send him or her a message.
(SMS only in The Netherlands and Belgium)

What is the GAY messenger?
The purple part of the page is your GAY messenger. With your GAY messenger you can send messages to all GAY.EU members. In the upper part you see the number of pending messages. If you have messages pending, just click this line and the message will pop up. Next to this, you see your friends or buddies. First of all "green friends", who are in that instant also online! Below that, the friends or buddies marked with red, who are offline.
Click the envelope in front of the name once to send a message with the GAY messenger.
Click the telephone in front of the name once to send a true SMS message.
You can of course send messages via the GAY messenger to people who are offline. This message will however not reach them, before they revisit GAY.EU. An SMS message on the other hand will, as it's being delivered by mobile telephone. (SMS only possible in The Netherlands and Belgium)
Click the person's name twice in order to look at the intended profile.
Via the little arrows on the bottom left in the purple part, you can scroll upwards and downwards. This might come into hand, if you have a lot of friends!

I'm experiencing weird failures and/or technical difficulties on my computer. Internet Explorer is continuesly crashing...
GAY.EU functions best on a Windows platform with a recent version of Internet Explorer. Also, we advise you to surf to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com on a regular basis to download and install all necessary patches and updates.
Should you use proxy servers, firewall software or popup killers? Please, switch these off, when experiencing such problems.
Should you repeatedly get the notification that you are not logged, try shutting down your browser completely, than restart und try logging in to GAY.EU a second time.

You can look at your online alerts by surfing to 'My messenger'. Then click the tab 'online alerts'. In this screen you can delete your online alerts.

I've got a Mac and my computer / browser is continguesly crashing...
Internet explorer version 5.1 when being run on a Mac, contains a lot of so-called bugs. These bugs are located in the more advanced parts of your browser, which intruments GAY.EU uses a lot. That explaines, why your browser is crashing a lot more than when visiting other websites. There is also another version of internet explorer: version 5.2. for a Mac computer. This version is a lot more stabile. On Mac OS X you have Safari at your disposal. For all others, who are experiencing problems with internet explorer on a Mac computer, try downloading Mozilla Firefox
